The Duke University Population Research Institute (DUPRI) hosted two signature events during the month of August.
The Add Health Parent Data User Study Workshop occurred on August 14-15, 2019 at Duke University and was attended by 34 invited research scholars from leading institutions. The workshop was funded by the National Institute on Aging. The Add Health Parent Data Study is co-directed by DUPRI Scholar V. Joseph Hotz and Kathleen Mullan Harris, Carolina Population Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
DUPRI's Jenny Tung lead the Triangle Area's Social and Biological Determinants of Health (SBDoH) Working Group meeting on August 22-23, 2019 at Duke University. Participants included representatives from Duke, UNC, and Wake Forest, and invited research scholars from University of Minnesota, Georgetown, Emory, University of Chicago, University of Texas –San Antonio, University of Washington, Columbia, and Princeton. SBDoH receives support from the National Institute on Aging, of the National Institute of Health under a P30AG034424 award.
